Alma's Intro
As I was brainstorming on how to introduce myself, I essentially ran through all the introductions I have ever given of myself on the internet in my head. Everything from “Hey there this is Alma” to “I suppose an introduction is in order” (pretentious much?) I have done. What I’ve yet to do is a “getting to know me”. Obviously with time and enough blog posts, you will find the type of person I am, but currently, this is the first post and you do not know much about me. The following bit is me in my current state of life.
This is me.
Basics.
I am a 32 year old wife and mother.
Background/Career
I am a stay at home mom and consider myself lucky to be in this situation. Prior to having my son, I was an Activity Director at senior living facilities, meaning I can turn just about anything into an activity and/or event and yes I have been certified for this. My coworkers called me a Pinterest mom before I ever thought I’d be a mom.
Interest and hobbies
I have many interest, especially those pertaining to my home. A big interest of mine is cooking and baking though I dread washing the dishes as soon as a spoon hits the sink. Home decor is also something I am in to. I strive for a cottage feel type aesthetic with fresh and dried florals, cozy blankets and tea cups on display. To be honest though, my decor is more of a mish mosh of many aesthetics.
When it comes to hobbies its difficult to say. To me hobbies are consistent and consistency is not a trait I possess. I do however enjoy crafting, diy projects and occasionally making things look cute to post to Instagram.
Fun facts
Upon meeting me or scrolling through my Instagram feed, you will find absolutely nothing surprising about me. At times I feel boring because there is nothing about me that is unexpected. I am not an open book but more of an extremely detailed synopsis. I know what I like and it is apparent, just don’t ask me where we should go out to eat because that will forever be a mystery to me. Any-who, here are a few things about me that are not necessarily unexpected or all that fun but will surely make you think “of course she does”.
The color teal. I gravitate to the color teal and other shades of blue and green. I can’t help it a lot of the time and it sometimes consumes most of my personality. Harry Potter is also a huge part of my life as it is my sister’s as well. I am tea drinker, I love tea and especially chai lattes. I do not live a hygge lifestyle but I definitely try to incorporate some of those practices into my life. I constantly reference movies I like such as Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Julie and Julia. I also enjoy taking pictures for my Instagram feed though these days, reels is where its at on the app.
Why you should stick around
Why should you? Because I bet it will be a fun journey. You will find inspiration and ideas in many forms. Everything from crafting to recipes and knowing my sister, everything will be aesthetically pleasing. As we blog, we will establish the type of content that best works for us, which in turn you will see the growth and progress we make. As I said before, it will be fun!
